The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 of Florence Jane Fletcher , R.N. (nee Meek) of Summerside , P.E.I. in her 103rd year. Florence was born on May 26, 1908 in Springbrook, P.E.I. to her late parents, Reagh & Winnifred (nee Marks) Meek. Beloved wife of the late John Fletcher and loving mother of Jane Gaudet of Summerside and Robert (Catherine) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kevin (Wendy) of Brampton, ON. and Rodney (Rhonda) of Summerside, three great grandchildren Justin, Kayla and Cole and sister-in-law Adele Meek of Stratford. Besides her parents and husband, Florence was predeceased by brothers and sisters: Theresa (James) Murphy, Mary (Eugene) MacGee, Oliver Meek, Henry (Elva) Meek, Dorothy Meek and Pauline Meek, her granddaughter Cindy Fletcher and son-in-law Henry Gaudet. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, April 1 for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Springbrook at a later date. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only, 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Florence’s memory to St. Thomas Church Cemetery Fund, International Children’s Memorial Place or the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
