IN LOVING MEMORY OF
BURL EDWARD SMITH

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Burl Smith, age 57, at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home on March 29, 2011 with his loving wife of 29 years and daughter by his side.

Burl was born on November 18, 1953 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and made Kamloops, BC his home for the past 20 years. He worked for the CN Railway as an Engineer until retiring in 2008. Burl was a long-time volunteer for the mobile kitchen through the Salvation Army and a faithful member of the Kamloops Vineyard Church.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, son Michael (daughter-in-law Shannon, grandson Liam), daughter Sarah (son-in-law Wayne, grandchildren Michael, Mia and Nikolas), sisters Myrna (Stan), Lauren (Craig) and mother Lavina, also many nieces and nephews. Burl was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend who will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Cres S., Kamloops, BC, V2E 2S9 or to the Kamloops Food Bank, 171 Wilson Street, Kamloops BC, V2B 2M8.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Andrews on the Square, 2nd and Seymour Street, Kamloops with Pastor Don Harrison officiating.
