Lorraine Leger

Lorraine Léger, 90, wife of the late Gervais Léger of the Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Trois Ruisseaux passed away at the Villa Providence on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Born October 2, 1920 in Bas Cap Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Élise (Landry) Brun. She was a past member of the Cap Pelé Club de l'âge d'or, les Dames Chrétiennes and the Women's Auxiliary with the Cap Pelé Royal Canadian Legion. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her five daughters: Françine Donelle (Gérard), Léonette Bourque (Donald), Ginette Léger (Adrice Arsenault) all of Cap Pelé, Janise LeBlanc of Trois Ruisseaux, Rolande Léger (Claude Thériault) of Edmunston; nine sons: Guy (Madeleine), Roland (Janice), Raoul (Claudine), Gilles (Jocelyne), Victor, Roussel (Denise) all of Trois Ruisseaux, Daniel (Jeanne) of Cap Pelé, Réginald of Fort McMurray, Michel (Mona) of Dieppe; four sisters: Maria Maillet (Jean-Paul) of Bouctouche, Eva Mazerolle (Wilfred) of Sudbury, ON, Aline Savoie of Toronto, ON, Laurida Brun (Marcel) of Dieppe; three brothers: Romuald Brun (Dina), Régis Brun and Armand Brun (Norma) all of Dieppe; 32 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Tim Léger (Kirsti) of Kitchener, ON, Rhéa Landry (Léonce) of Cap Pelé and by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Gervais (1987), she is also predeceased by two sons: Lorenzo and Lévi, a sister Léoline Saulnier and by four brothers: Alfred, Aimé, Omer and Adrice Brun.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap Pelé (577-3297) on Sunday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure at 10:20 a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap Pelé on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. If so desired, donations in Lorraine's memory to the Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Cemetery Fund, 2648 Acadie Rd., Cap Pelé, N.B. E4N 1E4 or the Villa Providence Inc., 403 Main St., Shediac, N.B. E4P 2B9 would be appreciated.
