Forman, Josephine (Sophie) Passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 26, 2009, at Pioneers Lodge, in Moose Jaw. Josephine at the age of 93, predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley, (1993). Cherished mother of Robert (Diane), Douglas (Valerie), Beverly Kirilenko (Gary), Joyce Morhart (Allen), Walter (Bonnie) and Gerard. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, by her brother John C. Thiele (Victoria), and by her sister Maria (Mary) Kesslering. She is predeceased by her sisters Katy, Mary, Cecilia, Teresa, Margaret, and by her brothers Charlie, Pete, Adam, Joe, Wenson, Frank and Jacob. Josephine was born on March 19, 1916 to Frank and Sophia Thiele and was raised on the family farm near Spring Valley, SK. She attended school in the area, and knew Stanley from an early age, growing up in the same vicinity. The couple were wed on October 12, 1941, and Stanley enlisted in the army shortly after. Josephine was content to be with Stanley in the various places he was posted over the next 6 years, and they began their family. In 1947, Stanley and Josephine came back to Saskatchewan, and by 1949 they had started their own farm, again near Spring Valley. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1980 but stayed active on the farm together until 1985, when their youngest son Gerard took it over. They enjoyed many vacations, traveling in their 5th wheel to Northern Saskatchewan and Alberta. They visited Alaska, the North West Territories, Hawaii, toured Europe and had a Caribbean cruise. At home, they became involved at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. They enjoyed square dancing, bowling and playing cards with friends. A prayer service will be held at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064-3rd Ave. NW. in Moose Jaw. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
