Passed peacefully away following a short illness on July 25, 2009 at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s, NL, Walter W. Mercer of Bay Roberts, aged 81 years. Predeceased by wife Alfreda; parents: George and Eliza Mercer; sister, Helen (Graham) French; brothers: George, Jim (Mabel); brothers-in-law: Raymond Reid, Arthur Reid, Aubrey (Susie) Reid, Malcolm Ralph and Raymond Ralph, William Norman, Lewellyn and Bramwell Reid, Sam Mitchell. Leaving to mourn daughters: Janice (Garry) Russell, Georgina (Darren) Brown; sisters: Mildred Ralph, Elizabeth Norman; sisters-in-law: Olive Mercer, Jenny Reid, Margaret Mitchell, Mahalla Reid; grandchildren: Bradley (Pamela) Russell, Pamela (Gerald Snow) Russell, Justin (Renelle) Brown, Jason (Angela) Brown; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Russell, Matthew Russell; special friend, Mary Pennell; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
