SMITH, Jessie – Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, October 27, 2008, Mrs. Jessie Smith of South River, aged 90 years. Predeceased by parents Ernest and Caroline Lear (nee Dawe); husband Angus Smith; son Ernest; sister Dulcie (Walter) Spracklin; granddaughter Carol Smith; brother-in-law Maxwell Hussey. Leaving to mourn sons: Eugene (Glenda), Cyril (Mabel); daughter Verna (Cyril) Weir; daughter-in-law Kathleen Smith; sister Greta Hussey; seven grandchildren: Ernest (Geraldine) Weir, Joyce (Adam) McDonald, David (Linda) Weir, Kelli Smith, Keith Smith, Dana Smith, Darrell Smith; six great-grandchildren: Mary, Stephen, Gerrimarie, Krystal, Leah, Michael; two great-great-grandchildren: Brandon, Samantha, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore’s Funeral Home, Clarke’s Beach. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 9 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Anglican Parish of the Resurrection, South River. Interment in All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Salmon Cove, South River. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Anglican Parish of The Resurrection or a charity of one’s choice.
