1939-2011 - Miramichi - Aldon Seymore Chapman, husband of the late Carol Lee Chapman, of Heritage Road, Miramichi, and formerly of Loggieville, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, April 1, 2011, at the age of 72, following complications resulting from a motor vehicle accident. Born in Hardwicke, on February 18, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Jenkins) Chapman. He was an adherent of Knox United Church, Miramichi; a retired employee of Dist. # 16 School Board; a former employee of Heath Steel Mines Ltd. He is survived by one daughter, Kelley Delano (Michael), of Miramichi; two sons, Darrell Chapman (Murphy), of Dickinson, Texas, USA and Matthew Chapman, of Campbellton; five grandchildren, Breckan, Zachary, Riley, Daryl, Seamus; five sisters, Elsie McGraw, Florence Savoy (Alvin), Marva Gulliver (Wayne), all of Black River Bridge, Dorothy Hackett (William), Audrey Hackett, all of Ontario; three brothers, Robert Chapman, of Miramichi, Willis Chapman (Jean), of Ontario, Carmen Chapman, of Black River Bridge. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carol Lee Matthews, in 2006; one sister, Hilda (Dolly) Coates and one infant sister, Joyce Chapman.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday evening only, from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held from Knox United Church, Miramichi, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Nursing Program, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
