MERCER

Passed away on April 1, 2011 in Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, surrounded by his loving family, Edward Mercer of Gander in his 77th year. Left to mourn with loving and happy memories his wife of 55 years Nell, sons; Ted ( Judy), Jim, Dave(Cathy), Ken(Yvonne), daughter Sandy(Dale), step-daughter Beth(Greg), grandchildren; Shane(Sarah),Janelle, Chelsea, Adam, Ryan, Alicia, Ian, Derrick(Mandy), Karyn(Trent), Nadine(Steve) and special new addition Nicholas, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

"Remember him with a smile today,
He was not one for tears,
Reflect instead on memories,
Of all the happy years.
Recall to mind the way he spoke,
And all the things he said,
His strength, his stance, the way he walked,
Remember these instead.
The good advise he'd give us,
His eyes that shone with laughter,
So much of him will never die,
but live on ever after."

Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander with service on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 2 PM, at St Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Association.
