Dorothy May Greenidge, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou , formerly of Avondale, Pictou Co.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest “Bobby†and Helen Elizabeth (Naylor) Fanjoy.
Dorothy will always be remembered for her eternal smile, her zest for life and her devotion to family. Her passions included fishing on the Margaree River and a love of music of all kinds. An accomplished musician and singer, Dorothy was an active member of many church choirs, as well as an organist for several churches. She taught piano, voice and directed choirs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Keith Drysdale), Calgary; son, Ken (Debbie Hirtle), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Lucinda (Trevor Arsenault), Norton, NB; Kelsey and Kaelan; great grandchildren, Xander and Joey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; sisters, Connie, Helen, Marjorie; brother, Bill.
The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hattie’s Cemetery, Avondale .
