Age 88, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Garden Nursing Home, Charlottetown.
Born in Canning, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Clarence and Harriet Pelton Vickery. He was a graduate of Canning High School.
A veteran of the Second World War, he served with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) and in 1967 the Centennial Medal of Canada. He was also employed with the federal government of Canada for almost 32 years. He was a life member of the reserve division HMCS Scotian, Halifax, N.S., and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Scotia branch, Halifax, N.S., for 40 plus years. Frank was a life long member of the Canning Baptist Church, Canning, N.S.
He is fondly remembered by his niece, Melva O'Connor-Rafuse (Errol). He is also survived by Barbara Eaton, Wolfville, N.S.; Jean Carey (Frank), Wolfville, N.S.; and Joan (Frank) Graham of Charlottetown.
Resting at Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Sturgeon Baptist Cemetery, Sturgeon, P.E.I., beside his spouse Flora Ann (O'Connor) Vickery.
Visitation: Wednesday 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
If so desired, donations may be made to the Sturgeon Baptist Cemetery Fund or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
