Hanson Campbell
Hanson Gardner Campbell of Chipman passed away at his home on April 4th, 2011. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Elinor, his children, Doreen (Ross) Fraser of Brigg’s Corner, Peter (Catherine), Paul (Lori) Mancel (Pam) all of Chipman; sister, Elizabeth (John) McKiel of Hardwood Ridge; brothers, Raymond (Carolyn), Harold (Carol) both of Minto; sister-in-law Myrna Campbell of Hardwood Ridge six grandchildren, Ryan, Graham, Christopher, Aaron, Clare and Elizabeth; great granddaughter, Ava; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Hanson was born on December 29th, 1930 son of the Late Garnett and Jean (Clark) Campbell. He was predeceased by his first wife Helen Brogan, brother Murray and grandchildren Matthew and Bradley Fraser. Hanson worked for J.D. Irving Ltd. as a heavy equipment operator for 24 years. He enjoyed the outside, especially fishing, hunting and four-wheeling. He belonged to the LOL, LOBA, Chipman Fish and Game and Men’s Celtic Choir. He worked tirelessly in his church serving as a member of the cemetery committee, choir and on the board of trustees. He volunteered with his wife and brothers, entertaining at the Queen’s North Nursing Home and he delivered meals on wheels. Hanson was an avid gardener and bee keeper. He will always be remembered for his love of music. He played his fiddle throughout the community for all to enjoy.
Resting at Chipman Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on April 7th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church with Rev. David Egers officiating. Interment at Red Bank United Cemetery at a later date.
