Clem is lovingly remembered by his wife Melva (nee: Wapple), his son Dwight, his daughter Shelley (Mel) Wiebe and his grandson's Brandon and Carson all of Swift Current, SK; 2 Sisters Lorraine Pollreis and Carol Hickman; Sister-in-law Dianne Messner and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Clemens and Cecilia (nee: Hammerer) Jurgens; Stepfather Ed Messner; 2 Sisters Verna (Albert) Stolz and Christine (Joe) Doetzel; 2 Brothers Arnold (Delphine) Jurgens and Mervin Messner; Brother-in-law Melvin Pollreis and numerous other in-laws and nephews. Clem was born October 17, 1931 to Cecilia (nee: Hammerer) Jurgens on the home farm west of Fulda, having already lost his father in May of that year. Clem attended Keller school where he received his grade 8 education. Later on, Clem went to school to become a Welder and was at the top of his class, but his love of the farm brought him back home. In 1955 Clem began working for the CPR after his brother Arnold took over the family farm. On October 14, 1958 Clem married Melva Wapple at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel RC Church in Carmel, SK. They began their lives together in Humboldt, SK but Clem's job took them to various places including Macklin and Lanigan before they found a permanent home in Swift Current, SK in 1964. The Lord had decided that Clem and Melva were two people who could open their hearts to any child and on February 14, 1967 they happily accepted Shelley into their hearts. On September 17, 1969 once again God asked them to open their hearts and placed Dwight lovingly in their care. While in Swift Current Clem made many good friends and enjoyed many activities. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, participating with the local EMO. He also enjoyed his coffee sessions at the local coffee shop. Clem would always joke that he was a "Jack Of All Trades" and a master of none, but he was always willing to help anyone, anywhere, anytime. If you were looking for a special tool or an obscure part you checked with Clem first because he probably had it. Clem continued working for the CPR moving from Telecommunications to Signal Maintenance where he worked until his retirement in December 1986. Clem could not stay retired and almost immediately began working part-time at the Pioneer Co-op until 2006 where dwindling health forced him into retirement once again. Clem battled illness on and off over the next 5 years, but whenever it was possible he still enjoyed his coffee times and going to the local rink or soccer field to watch his grandson's play. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by those who knew him. In Clem's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
