It is with great sadness that the family of the late Daniel Joseph Rubia announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care, at Stephenville Crossing on Tuesday July 28th 2009 at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Pauline (Mrs. Jim Lane) of Gambo, Gervis (Julie) of Ontario, Laura Rubia of St. Jude\'s, Kathleen (Mrs. Joseph Peeling) of Ontario, Danny of Deer Lake, & Dean of Ontario. His 12 grandchildren, & 11 great-grandchildren, his sisters & brothers: Mrs. Margaret Curnew, Mrs. Rita Keating, & Mrs. Corinne Nardini, all of Stephenville Crossing, Winnie (Mrs. Stanley McFatridge) of Placenta Bay, Lawrence of Stephenville Crossing, Herbert of Deer Lake, Roy, & Marcel (Madonna) both of Ontario. Daniel was predeceased by his wife Iva (nee Kelly), his son Paul, his sisters: Anna Young & Matilda Madore, brothers: Charles, Isadore, & Allan. Also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family & friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL. from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm , today Thursday July 30th 2009. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Roman Catholic Church in Deer Lake on Friday July 31st 2009 at 10:30 am with Father John Collins officiating with the Burial to follow at the church cemetery, Wights Road in Deer Lake, NL.
