Edna Dickson

1918-2011 - Miramichi - Edna Arlene Dickson, widow of the late Dallas R. Dickson, of the South Napan Road, passed away suddenly at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, April 4, 2011, at the age of 92. Born in Napan Bay, on July 18, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John and Nina (Taylor) MacInnis. She was a homemaker and an adherent of Carmel United Church, Napan. Edna was an avid bingo and card player as well as an accomplished knitter and quilter. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Flanagan, of Napan and one John Dickson, both of South Napan Road; one brother, Milton MacInnis (Betty), of Miramichi; one son in law, Lloyd MacKnight, of Napan; six grandchildren, Glen and Gerald (Carolyn) McKnight, Scott (Sandi) and Tyler Dickson, Sheri Beaulieu (Alex), Holly Jardine; eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dallas, in 1984; one daughter Lois McKnight; seven sisters, Stella McKnight, Rose Barnes, Bessie Gilliss, Mildred Dickson, Kathleen Dickson, Lylla and Emma MacInnis; three brothers, Bryden (Bud), Leonard and Leigh MacInnis.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pn. The funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, Napan, on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund or Carmel United Church, would be appreciated by the family..
