1921 - 2011 - Joseph "Jos" Despres, 89 of Bouctouche, husband of Judith (Saulnier) Despres, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5th, 2011 at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche. Born in Bouctouche on May 12th, 1921, he was the son of the late Jeffrey and the late Marguerite (LeBlanc) Despres. Jos was a truck driver for most of his life. He will be sadly missed by his wife Judith, his seven children, Viola Collette (Emerie), Stella Savoie (Jean), Elva McFadden (Jimmy), Geraldine (late Valmond) Robichaud (friend Donald Richard), Herb (Pauline), Laurie (late Jeannette), and Roger all of Bouctouche. He also leaves to mourn thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Zella and Stella and five brothers, Eric, Albéo, Ulysse, Hervé and Aurel.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche, on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Thursday from 1 to 2:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church Bouctouche on Thursday April 7th, 2011 at 3:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring. In Jos’s memory donations can be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche or to the parish.
