WILSON – Reverend James (Jim) Oliver, beloved husband of Jean Ann Wilson who passed away in August of 2003, passed away suddenly on March 9, 2011, at the age of 82 years. Jim was born on November 9, 1928, in Bournemouth, England, to James and Edith Wilson. After serving as a missionary in South Africa for over five years he moved to Canada and married Jean Ann Wilson. Jim was first employed in pastoral care for the Church of England in Parry Sound, ON. He moved to Vancouver, BC, with his wife where they ran a halfway house for ex-convicts for several years. Jim returned to school and completed his education in theology through the Simon Fraser University. He was employed as the minister for Beaconsfield Church in Vancouver between the years of 1969 to 1977. Jim and Jean moved to Nelson, BC, in 1978 where he was employed as the minister at St. Paul’s Trinity United Church until his retirement. He took great pride in his vocation and especially enjoyed conducting Bible Studies. Jim and Jean moved to Herbert, SK, after residing in British Columbia for many years. Jim was a very social person who enjoyed the company of others immensely. Those closest to his heart were his wife, family and dear friends. Jim always had a dog by his side throughout his life. He is survived by his sister Olive; his daughters Sandra Jean Marr and Patricia Anne Wilson; and his grandson Steven Michael Wilson. He will be sadly missed by all. There will be no services held at his request.
