Lillian Brown

Born In: Thompkins, Saskatchewan, Canada

Passed in: Saskatchewan, Canada
Passed on: December 15th, 2010

Lillian Marie Brown (nee Falstad) It is with sadness that the family of Lillian announces her passing on Dec. 15, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Lillian was born in Tompkins SK, but spent most of her life in Moose Jaw, where she raised her family, while also managing a prominent ladies' wear store. In later life she moved several times to live near family in Kelowna, Prince Albert, Tompkins and Nanaimo. She always loved the prairies though, and was a true ambassador for Saskatchewan. She believed time on earth as precious, and lived life with that in mind. Aunt Lillian was a lady and dressed for every occasion. Until the end she wore dresses as she considered her legs worth looking at. Family celebrations were all the more special when she attended. She told the best and worst jokes and laughed along with us. Lillian was the family historian and we learned to appreciate our Norwegian heritage from her stories of childhood and travel to Norway. Lillian loved her family and always said ‘I love you’. Lillian is predeceased by her parents John and Amelia (whom she missed every day), former husband, Allan, brothers Jim and George, sister Genevieve Heffer and brother-in-law Alvin Hinton, sisters-in-law Orla and Lillian. She is survived by her sister, June Hinton, her son, Douglas (Nicole), two grandchildren, Michael and Geoffrey, and five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of Lillian's life will be held at Grace Mennonite Church, Saturday, April 9th at 2:00 p.m.
