John Mueller passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK, on Saturday March 26, 2011. John was predeceased by his granddaughter, Charmaine, in 2002. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma; one son, Lindsay (Joy) Mueller and their children: Kristie, Melissa, Marissa (Derrick) Wolfe, and a great-grandson, Dolan; one daughter, Michele (Dan) Nephin and their children: Danny and Niki. Also surviving are two sisters, Pauline and Anna, of Calgary, AB; one brother, Albert, of Southhampton, UK; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born on December 18,1930, in Medicine Hat, AB and raised there as well. He was the second youngest of fourteen children born to Adolf and Pauline Mueller. John was employed by Beaver Lumber for many years. He and Norma lived in a number of small towns in Alberta before buying Swift Current Building Supplies in 1970. John was always involved in sports from a very young age, bowling, baseball, golfing, curling and a formidable opponent on the pool table as many people could tell you. John was an avid member of the Hanna Kinsmen Club and the Swift Current Eagles. One of his great loves was living on the acreage east of town along with the horses and the dogs that he loved so dearly, a lifetime dream come true. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2011, at 2:00 pm from the First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Shirley Wilson officiating. A Private Family Interment was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. In memory of John Mueller, donations made to the Swift Current SPCA, Box 1163, Swift Current, SK, S9H 3X3 would be appreciated by the family.
