It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Thelma Stewart on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at her home in Sydney River, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (Bugden) Roberts.
Surviving are her husband, Keith; sons, Alan (Louise), Coxheath, and David (Susan), Sackville, N.B.; sister, Mildred Hopkins, Jeddore, N.S. She will always be remembered as ‘Meme’ to her five grandchildren, Tracy, Melanie (Jeff) Slipp, Keith (Suzanne), Austin (Emily) and Anne and 10 great-grandchildren.
Thelma was predeceased by her brothers, Alden and Donald, formerly of Truro, N.S.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday. 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday. 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment will take place Sunday. 2 p.m., in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, N.S.
