JOHN ROMANCHYCH

John was born in Strong Pine, SK. John attended Mons School and helped on the family farm until he moved to Vancouver, BC in 1953 looking for work. He worked on road construction and logging camps in various areas. He was seriously hurt in a logging accident, after which he went to work in a cold storage plant as a foreman until he retired. It was in Vancouver he met June Krouzer and they were married in 1965. John enjoyed his morning coffee gatherings and his yearly visit to Saskatchewan to visit family, friends and the casino. John is survived by his sisters: Rose (Alex) Sarad, Eva Romanchuk, Nettie Bailey, and Carol (Brian) Foot; brothers: Harry (Jackie Lee), Joe, Orest, Bob (Debbie), and Lorne (Marie); sister-law: Cecile Romanchuk; and numerous nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his wife: June; parents: Peter and Mary Romanchych; brother: Bill Romanchuk; sisters: Ann Grodziak and Helen Romanchuk; sisters-in-law: Kathy Prosper, Nancy Romanchuk, Sonya Romanchuk and Tootsie Romanchuk; brothers-in-law: Hugh Watson, Michael Hristoff and Nick Grodziak; nephews: Teddy Romanchuk and Andy Grodziak. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00am at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 684 3rd Ave E, Prince Albert, SK officiated by Rev. Fr. Michael Lomaszkiewicz. Interment at South Hill Cemetery. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Heart Fund or Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Hawryluk Funeral Home. 922-6611.
