John "Jack" McCluskey

Jack, of Kennebec Manor, formally of Quispamsis, went to be with his Lord on Thursday April 7, 2011 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Mersereau) for 58 years. Born in Grand Falls, NB he was the son of the late John and Ruth McCluskey. Loved and admired father of Barbara (Tom) Glauser; dear brother to Murray (Barbara) McCluskey and Yvonne (David) Jenkins. He excelled in salesmanship working many years for Crosby Molasses, Imperial Life Assurance and Day and Ross. He was an active member of Jaycees, Saint John Board of Trade, Maritime Commercial Travelers, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association and a volunteer for the Canada Summer Games. Jack loved hockey, baseball and travelling with his trailer, especially to Old Orchard Beach for many years, before his sickness. He enjoyed life, looked forward to participating in activities, telling jokes, and enjoyed outings with the nurses at Kennebec Manor where he had many friends. Jack loved music, singing and playing his guitar to his favorite hymns. He attended Kings Valley Wesleyan Church and enjoyed the many different church services at Kennebec Manor.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jack made to the Kennebec Manor Bus Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
