Passed in: Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

RINDAHL - Mabel Sylvia passed away surrounded by her family at the Palliser Regional Care Center in Swift Current, SK on Thursday July 23, 2009 at the age of 83 years. She grew up in the Hovdestad area and married Ralph Rindahl on August 5, 1950, at the Nordland Lutheran Church. They farmed side by side on the family farm until they moved to Riverview Village Estates. Mabel loved the farm and all that went with farm life. She loved her garden and worked tirelessly on her flowers, trees and yard. Mabel had many talents and interests that kept her very busy. She enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, driving the grain truck, knitting, quilting, crocheting, cooking and picking berries. She leaves many handcrafts and projects for our enjoyment. As busy as she was, she always had time for family and friends. She could cook for one or one hundred, it made no difference to her, as long as family or friends were there to eat and share some laughs and stories. She had an amazing memory for family and community history. Names and dates were contained in her mind, not recorded in books - birthdays and anniversaries were never forgotten. Mabel was an active member of the Stewart Valley Seniors Club and the Scandinavian Club of Swift Current. Mabel was predeceased by her parents Julius and Ruth Moen; brothers Orville, James, Raymond and Ben; sisters Clarine, Muriel and Gertie. She is survived by her husband of nearly 59 years Ralph; son Bob (Mary Lou); granddaughter Jennifer Plewis (Ryan); grandson Jordon Rindahl; nephews Myles and Myron Furseth, with whom she had a special relationship, thinking of them as sons; sisters Ruth Moen, Agnes Millang (Lester), Edith Kononoff (Wally), Ellen Palmer (Murray); brother Harold Moen (Renetta) and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 27 at 1:00 PM from St. Olaf's Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Greg Kiel. The ushers were Kyle Furseth and Andrew Furseth. The pallbearers were nephews Stu Palmer, Garth Palmer, Myles Furseth, Myron Furseth, Darcy Moen, and Jason Johnson. The interment took place at the Norland Lutheran Church in the Hovdestad District. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
