Peacefully with her family by her side at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, April 7, 2011, of Marilyn Patricia Smith (nee Noonan) of Lower Freetown.
Beloved wife of Leo, dear mother of Kellie (Donald) and special Nan to grandchildren Jarrett and Alexis Mulligan, Emerald; Leah, Bedford, N.S; Jason, Summerside; Matthew (Cathy); and special Nan to grandchildren Bailey and Aidan, Bridgewater, N.S.
Born in Albany, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ruth (McKenna) Noonan. She is survived by Leona (and the late Leonard Lafferty), Charlottetown; Phillip (Lorraine), Albany; Paul (Barb), St. Catharines, Ontario; the late Anne and (Jim) Duffy; the late John, Eleanor (Sandy) Pollard, Texas; Nora (James) Rogers, Winsloe; Michael, Summerside; and several nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law, Louis (Deina) Smith, Riverview, N.B; George (Eileen) Smith, Summerside; and Earl (Rowena) Smith, Central Bedeque.
Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lorne and Mabel (Handrahan) Smith.
There will be no visiting hours by request of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
Funeral to be held on Saturday, April 9, at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Seven Mile Bay. Interment will take place later in the parish cemetery.
