HUNTLEY, Philip Vernon - 70, of Scott’s Bay, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at home following a lengthy illness. Born in Scott’s Bay, Kings County, he was a son of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Dykens) Huntley. He had been employed with Russell Jess, Marshall Motors, P - Med Supplies and Bill Pierik. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Huntley; three daughters, Karen, Scott’s Bay; Tammy (Troy) Barkhouse, Scott’s Bay; Nicole (Todd) Welton, Scott’s Bay; sisters, Marion (Harold) Power, Coldbrook; Laverne (Arthur) Dowell, Cambridge; Berneice (Ronald) Ward, Centreville; brothers, Howard “Howie” (Juanita), New Minas; Robert (Elizabeth), Scott’s Bay; Kenneth (Frances), Pereaux; Everett (Louise), Scott’s Bay; Daniel (Donna), Scott’s Bay; Vaughn (Elaine), Sackville; grandchildren, Edward, Colton, Michaela, Keenan, Hayden, Corey, Madison; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a newborn daughter, Krista; infant sister, Mildred and sisters, Mabel and Brenda and a brother, Lawrence. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service followed by a reception was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, Reverend June Keddy officiating. Burial took place in the Scott’s Bay Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Union Church of Scott’s Bay Cemetery Fund.
