The death of Edgar J. Lanteigne of Lincoln, NB occurred at the Veteran’s Health Unit on Thursday, April 7th, 2011. Born in Caraquet, NB on May 24, 1924 he was the son of the late Theotime and Lucille (Beaudin) Lanteigne. Edgar will be sadly missed by his wife, Alexandra (Haché) Lanteigne; his children, Amy Lanteigne, Don Lanteigne (Diane), John Lanteigne, Elie Lanteigne (Susan), Jeanne Blanchard (Freeman) and Mike Lanteigne; his grandchildren, Troy Wells, Brent and Vanessa Lanteigne, Erica Valentate, Mikey Lanteigne, Natasha Leavitt, Tony Foster, Myriah O’Quinn and Christina Sloan; his great-grandchildren, Jessica, Curtis and Vincent, Stella, Allie, Maddie and Alexis; brother, Claude as well as his sisters, Berthe, Andrea and Stella. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Valmond, Medard, Henry, Gerry and Romeo as well as his sister, Imelda.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and at the Veteran’s Health Unit for all of the wonderful care and compassion shown to Edgar.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service at 7:00 pm on Sunday evening. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, April 11th, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Edgar’s honor may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. On-line condolences can be made at www.oromoctofh.com.
