Claire McKinnon

It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of our dear sister and aunt to three generations, Agnes ‘Claire’ McKinnon, after a brief illness.
Claire was predeceased by her parents Coady and Jane (Harte) McKinnon, brother Coady, a brother in infancy, and brother-in-law Walter (Sonny) Chiasson.
Prior to retirement Claire was employed by the Glace Bay Community Hospital in pediatrics and CSR. She was a member of the Lay Carmelite Community.
Left to mourn are brothers: Adrian (Mabel), Ronnie, Jerry (Donna), Arnold (Debbie), Bernie (Lisa), all of Glace Bay, and Frankie (Lorna), Oshawa, ON; sisters: Marie Turner, Carmie Chiasson, Joyce McInnis, Helen Kelloway, Cathy (Jamie) Gilliam, all of Glace Bay, and Anne (John) Vernon, Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law Peggy; nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Claire will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 a.m., Monday, April 11, at Holy Family Church, MacKays Corner, Glace Bay.
