
Lydia Reimer
REIMER - (Lydia Feil), age 91 formerly of Heritage Towers, Swift Current passed away April 6, 2011 at the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility. The funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 9, 2011 from the East Side Church of God with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Music for the service was provided by Mary Henderson and Marilyn Rempel. Ushers were: Ross Reimer and David Feil. Pallbearers were: Perry Bateman, Sydney Reimer, Gerald Martin, Jason Nimegeers, Brad Gaetz and Matt Weinknecht. Lydia is survived by 3 sisters: Emma Komarniski, Medicine Hat, Evelyn Siemens, Maple Creek, and Elsie Mahoney, Ottawa; 1 brother, Harvey Meyer, Burnaby and 2 sisters-in-law, Esther Feil, Swift Current, and Sadie Meyer, Saskatoon; six children: Don (Tillie) Reimer, Betty (Wally) Bateman, Marilyn (Doug) Beck, Richard (Wendy) Reimer, Debbie (Doug) Biese and Teresa (Sheldon) Haroldson; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband John July 18, 2006; her Mother Julia Meyer (Gerlach) July 20, 1979, her Father Reinhart Feil 1919, her sisters, Molly Alwood, Victoria, Martha Biesel, Calgary, brothers Clarence Meyer, Rosetown, David Feil, Kelowna, Jake Feil, Swift Current. Lydia was born on the farm at Rush Lake. She attended the Moscow School. She was united in marriage to John Reimer on November 22, 1938. Lydia was a homemaker all her married life raising her children on the family farm. She was a member of the Seniors Club in Waldeck, the Caroline Singers and the UCW Ladies. Lydia enjoyed crocheting, reading, going for long walks, singing and enjoyed having her children and grandchildren spending time at the farm. She often spoke about the good times she had attending dances with John and the good music they shared. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
