Passed peacefully away after a brief illness Robert James Learning (March 7, 1928 - May 31, 2017). Predeceased by his parents: George and Sarah Learning; his wife Ruby (nee Snelgrove), 2014; sisters: Florence Atwood (Frank), Ruby Cobb (George) and Gladys Long; brothers: Harold, Art (Doris), Allen (Gale) and Fred. Leaving with fond memories sister Rosalie Learning and brother-in-law Herb Long; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was a member of Wesley United Church, Masonic Lodge Tasker and a former member of Kiwanis Club of Grenfell, St. John's. We would like to thank the staff of Hillcrest Estates, who Robert referred to as a great bunch of girls, for their care over the past seven years as well as the nurses and staff of Pleasant View Towers. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
