GRANT, Walter Roy “Wally” – 75, of Greenwood, NS passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was the son of the late Vernon “Jim” and Eileen (Coleman) Grant. Wally retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after 32 years as a Supply Technician. He was later employed with Baader Canada, Dartmouth for 15 years. Wally was an avid hockey fan and got great enjoyment out of watching all levels of hockey with his sons, and most recently enjoyed watching his grandson play. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband and loved his family dearly. He enjoyed his Friday night card socials with his special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as his daily walks and drives throughout the Valley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years the former Teresa Sampson; daughter, Tammy (Dave) Hiscock, Winnipeg; sons, Todd Grant (Elaine Craig), Kentville; Troy (Susan) Grant, Chezzetcook; grandchildren, Tyler Grant, Meghan Hines and Emma Hines. By Wally’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where a memorial service was held 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. By request, family flowers only.
