VICKERY, Alice Barbara – age 90, of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Kelley’s Cove, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter to the late Albert and Millie (MacKinnon) Penney. Alice was a housewife and loved her family dearly. She was a devoted member of Yarmouth North Baptist Church and loved to knit and paint in her spare time. She also had a great love of everything Elvis. She is survived by her daughters, Wendy (George) Belliveau, Woods Harbour; Trudy (Larry) Olsen, Pembroke; Ronna (Brent) Jamieson, Yarmouth; son, Tommie (Alvina), Chebogue; brother, Carl Penney, Maine, USA; sisters, Shirley (Delphis) Doucette, Rockville; Judy (Kenneth) Devine, Kelley’s Cove; grandchildren, Cindy, Corey, Treena, Darren, Blake, Logan; 8 great grandchildren, Chera, Cody, Nolan, Colin, Jordan, Kylie, Ethan and Renee; and 1 great great grandson on the way. Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband George; sister, Audrey Pitman; and brothers, Herbert, Gene and Ronald. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Thursday June 15, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2 P.M. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A. D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue Cemetery. A reception followed at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall (61 William Street, Yarmouth) following the burial. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chebogue Cemetery or Yarmouth North Baptist Church.
