Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on Friday, July 31, 2009. William Penney aged 90 years. A long-time employee of the C.N. Railway and the Newfoundland Railway. Predeceased by father: Isaac; mother: Annie; sister: Evelyn Greening; brother: Jack Penney; brothers-in-law Chesley, Bruce and Tom; sister-in-law: Ena. Leaving to mourn his beloved wife of 60 years: Beulah (nee Brake); daughters: Donna Lynn Penney of Vancouver, Debbie Frances Tucker (Andrew) of St. Philip’s; grandsons: William Jeremy Andrews and Andy Marcel Tucker; brothers: Raymond Penney (Evelyn), Chesley Penney (Bernice), sister: Margaret Wicks; sisters-in-law: Joan Mayo, Ruby White (Norm), Viola Heath (Don); brother-in-law: Gerald Brake (Joan) as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Much appreciation and our thanks to Elizabeth Towers management and staff where he lived for the past four years. Also, our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses at Agnes Pratt Nursing Home for their loving care over the past two months. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday, Aug. 3rd from 10-12 noon, 2-4 and 7-9 and Tuesday, Aug. 4th from 10-12 noon. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, Aug. 4th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
