BARKER, Charles - (Sept 18, 1926 - July 3, 2017) Long time Cornwall Electric employee. It is with much sadness that the family announces the death of their loving father and grandfather "Charlie". He leaves behind his children Mary O'Shea (Donnie), Elizabeth Dick (David) and Michael Barker (Jennifer); his grandchildren Seamus (Sarah), Brendan (Kelly), Sarah (Shane) and Kathleen (TJ) O'Shea; Katie (Jeff), Emily (Justin) and Leah Dick; Conor and Christian Barker; his great-grandchildren Ainsley and Scarlett O'Shea, Bobby and Tommy O'Shea, Jack O'Dowd, Grace and Charlie O'Shea-Griffis and Anna Laframboise; his sister Marlene and sister-in-law Margaret. Predeceased by his wife Monica (Maloney) and siblings Basil, Allen, Ella and Bernice. The son of Della and Edward, he was shaped by his early years of hard work on the family farm in Avonmore and by his deep faith. The family thanks those who helped care for him in his final months, especially the staff at Sandfield Place. Daddy, we will miss you. And yes, we will be careful. A private funeral mass was celebrated at St. Columban's Church with burial to follow. As expressions of sympathy, contributions in to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
