Phyllis Alberta (Commins) Rideout
The family of the late, much-loved, Phyllis Alberta Rideout, a wonderful wife, sister, and friend, who passed away on April 24,2017, wish to express our sincere appreciation to our relatives and friends, for the concern and compassion shown to us during our recent loss. To everyone who called and visited our home, sent floral tributes, on-line condolences, sympathy cards, mass cards, donations to Newsom United Church, Knox United Church, the Salvation Army, C.B. Regional Hospital Foundation, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Palliative Care Society of C.B County, the N.S. Retired Teachers Legacy Foundation, the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation, and the Midwestern Christian Academy in Chicago, and to those who visited the funeral home, who attended the service on April 28, and the graveside service on June 21, words are not sufficient to show our appreciation.
Special thanks to Rev. Carol Gillard, Rev. Donald MacDonald, and Rev. Duncan Roach for the wonderful service, to organist Lynn Rosta and members of the choirs of Newsom United, Warden United and St. Paul’s Presbyterian for providing the music. Thanks also to the ladies of Newsom United Church for the beautiful luncheon following the funeral service.
Much appreciation to Michelle Young and staff of Patten Funeral Home for their compassion and support during this difficult time. Thanks to the pallbearers Henry Rosta, William MacLeod, Wayne Howie, Kevin Strong, Tom Kennedy and Doe McGrath.
Thanks to Dr. David Ley and the staff of 3rd south of Glace Bay Hospital for their care and compassion, and to the New Waterford Homecare Service Society for looking after Phyllis. Thanks to nurses Fely McNeil, Alice Ross and Antoinette Wludyka, to therapists Cherie Clarke and Amanda Forward, to the Paramedics, to Sonny and Mary Blackmore, Lynn Rosta, Enid Warner, and Evelyn Smith for their loving care and assistance, to the Legion members and R.T.O. members who attended the service, and to all the people of Newsom United Church for their support.
