Passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre on April 11, 2011, Annie Downey (nee Spencer), aged 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Walter; parents Ernest and Elizabeth Spencer; sister Evelyn Spencer; brothers: Albert and George Spencer. Leaving to mourn her daughter Lois Duffett (Glenn); grandson Steven Duffett (Julie Hickey); sister Ida Decker (Guy); brother Wesley Spencer (Berdena); sister-in-law Florence Spencer; a number of nieces and nephews; special friend Ivy Ivany and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. - 12 noon on Wednesday. Funeral Service to be held at Barrett's Mount Pearl Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
