We, the family of the late Eoin Cossitt, wish to express our sincere appreciation to our families, friends and neighbours for their acts of kindness during our recent loss. Many thanks to those who phoned and visited, sent flowers and cards, brought food, gave charitable donations and online condolences, and to all who shared their collective memories of Eoin.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital emergency room and the Northside General Hospital for the excellent care given to Eoin during his final days and helping us through that difficult time. We are indebted to Dr. Peter Poulos and the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home who cared for Eoin through his last year.
To Kolin, Sherry and the staff of Sydney Memorial Chapel – thank you for your professionalism, kindness and guidance. We acknowledge the funeral service readers – nephew Stephen McLennan, niece Kim Gallop, and eulogy delivered by niece Wendy Blanchard, with a contribution by cousin Paul MacDougall. The service was enhanced by the United Heritage Church Choir and organist Ken MacKenzie, whose hymn selection reflected Eoin’s love of nature.
We will be eternally grateful to Rev. Rosemary Godin for her compassion, support and meaningful meditation.
A committal service of scripture and music by Ken MacKenzie was held on July 7 at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
To those who assisted our family to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, we wish all of you Eoin’s lifelong embrace of the natural world.
