SMITH, Phyllis Margarete (nee Goobie) – Phyllis was born May 4th, 1912 and enjoyed life, with all its ups and downs. She brought happiness to people, with her never ending humor and great outlook on life. Phyllis passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2008 at the age of 96 years. Phyllis was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Norman Smith and son Wallace Henry. Leaving to mourn son Phillip and wife Anne; daughter-in-law Joyce; grandsons: Scott (Cheryl), Mark (Loriann) and Christopher (Deirdre); great-granddaughter Payton; nieces: Catherine Halliday, Karen Hickman and Heather Johnson and a large circle of family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and management of Elizabeth Towers for their love and caring. Visitation to be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Barrett’s Chapel on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’ memory may be made to the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home or a charity of one’s choice.
