MARIASTELLA SCERBO
99th Birthday

On April 11, 2011 Mariastella Scerbo passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years. Mariastella was born on October 12, 1911 in Amato, Italy.

At 11 years old, Mariastella and her parents Agostino and Angela Cosentino immigrated to Canada settling in Alix, Alberta where she attended school and made many friendships.

In 1941, Mariastella married Louis Scerbo of Hudson, Ontario and later settled in Transcona, Manitoba where they raised their family. In 1978 they moved to Kamloops to be closer to their children. No matter where she lived, her home was always filled with an abundance of food, family, friends and good times.

She was predeceased by her husband Louis Scerbo in 1989, her brother Frank Cosentino and her sister Jean (Tony) Fiorentino.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lois Taylor of Kelowna and her son August (Mary) of Kamloops. She also leaves her grandchildren Robert and Gary Taylor, Lisa (Scott) Galloway and Jason Scerbo, her great grandchildren Nicole, Tyson and Joey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prayers will be recited in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in the Church on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow, Hillside Cemetery.
