Passed peacefully away at the Masonic Park Nursing Home on August 1, 2009, Alma Stella Hoffe, formerly of Clarke’s Head, Gander Bay, aged 81 years. Predeceased by her husband Stanley; son-in-law Ernest Higgins; brother-in-law Douglas Batten. Leaving to mourn daughters: Eileen O’Keefe and Bride Higgins; sons: Glen (Linda) and Dennis ( Barb); thirteen beloved grandchildren; sixteen cherished great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Batten and Katie Gillingham (Ivan); nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends; especially her dear friends Jean Gillingham and Audrey Edwards; also Ralph Lane, a very dear friend at Masonic Park Nursing Home. Words alone cannot express our deepest thanks for the loving care and dignity shown to our beloved mother in her final days by the truly dedicated, tireless staff of the Masonic Park Nursing Home. We are forever in their debt. At Alma’s request, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
