Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, St. John’s on Sunday, August 2, 2009, Gloria Theresa Sooley (nee Crane) of Labrador City, formerly of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 52 years. Predeceased by parents John and Agatha Crane; sisters: Bernadette Crane Thistle and Madonna Pike; father-in-law George Sooley. Leaving to mourn husband Richard; son Tyson; also a mother to her predeceased sister Madonna’s children: Sean Pike and Jackie Pike (Terry) Walsh; one brother Daniel (Brenda) Crane, Riverhead, Hr. Grace; two sisters: Patricia (Paul) Walters, Kanata, Ottawa and Diane Crane, St. John’s; aunts: Nellie Ryan, Spaniard’s Bay, Kay (Ivan) Wray and Theresa Jarvis, both of Ontario; mother-in-law Marjorie Sooley, St. John’s; six brothers-in-law: Clarence (Nellie), Sidney, Everett (Isabel), John (Elaine), all of Heart’s Delight, Gary (Shirley), Barrie, ON and Derek, St. John’s; two sisters-in-law: Judy Griffiths, Manuels and Josie (Gerry) Gulliver, St. John’s; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, August 6, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Cremation to follow. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
