Passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Hospital on August 1, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her husband Arch Stacey (1981) and daughter Laura Griffis (1973) and son-in-law Bernard Long (2001.) Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughter Nita Long and son Lewis Stacey (daughter-in-law Ann); sadly missed by thirteen grandchildren; Gary (Lena), Rick (Rena), Eddie (Claudia), David (Sharon), Beverly (Lenny), Valerie (Bob), Janet (Ken), Linda, Karen (Dean) Leonard (Kelly), Laura (Chris), Stephen (Lisa) and Greg; along with fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters: Elizabeth Eustace and Ina Heale; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Also, heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ruby Manor for their loving care where she resided for the past three years. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. - 12 noon Tuesday. Funeral service on Tuesday August 4, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Thomas’s Anglican Church. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
