Rae Snowdon
1925 - 2010 - The death of Rae Douglas Snowdon, 85, of Midgic, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 14, 2011. Born in Westcock, he was a son of the late Rupert and Lena (Johnson) Snowdon. A veteran of WW II, he served overseas with the North Shore Regiment in Holland, France, Belgium and Germany. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and hobby farmer who took great pride in his blueberry fields. Rae grew up in Sackville and worked for Canada Post in Moncton until his retirement. Rae will be sadly missed by three sons, Keith (Beverley), Truro, Rupert (Janice), Moncton and Douglas, Irishtown; two daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Ross, Truemanville, NS and Sally (Blaine) Bagley, Moncton; nine grandchildren, Michael Ross, Sally Ross, Kerri Graham, Steven Snowdon, Seth Bagley, Jessica, Kelly, Jenny and Britney Snowdon and six great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Rae was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 2002, a brother Reg, and a sister Kay.
The remains are being cared for under the supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300). Visitation will be held from the funeral home 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm from the funeral home on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Pastor Morris Mills officiating. Following the service, Rae will be laid to rest with his wife in the Midgic Cemetery. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
