It is with great sadness that the family of Louise H. Payne (nee Humber) announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, July 24, 2017 in her 76th year. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband Sam; niece Joy (Morley) Payne; nephews: Levi (Eunice), Trent (Rowena) and Desmond (Brooke) Humber; great-nieces: Robyn, Felicia, Candace, Emily and Anna; great-nephews: D.J. and Luke; 4 great-great-nephews; sisters-in-law: Helen Humber and Lily Perry; brothers-in-law: Stan House, Don Perry, Wheeler (May) Perry, Baxter Payne, Brendan (Norma) Payne and their mom Anita. Also a very large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends in her home of Corner Brook, who are like family. She was predeceased by parents Mary and Henry "Harry" Humber; sister Maud and brother Henry; father-in-law Samuel Payne; mother-in-law Matilda (Perry) Payne; sisters-in-law: Viola, Bessie and Margaret Perry; brothers-in-law: Chris, Bill and Clarence Perry. Louise had a great respect and love of Teaching, for her co-workers and the children she taught. During her 32 year career, she taught in a number of communities on the Norther Peninsula and finally Corner Brook, where she made her home and retired in June 1993. She was an active member of the Bennett Hall Ladies Auxiliary and Retired Teachers Association. With respect to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive with Reverend Ed King presiding. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to the Mazol Shriners Children Patient Travel Fund, Retired Teachers Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
