Unexpectedly, and with her loving family by her side, Janet Edna Partridge, 83, of Dorchester, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on July 29, 2017. Janet was born in Dorchester, a daughter of the late Maurice and Sadie (Mosher) Spidle.
She was a member of the former Dorchester First Baptist Church where she was clerk and organist for many years, then a member of the Middle Sackville Baptist Church.
Janet began as a teacher in Upper Cape, and then the Dorchester Consolidated School, stopping to raise her family while continuing to supply teach. She was a dominion life member of the Women's Missionary Society and helped at many Dorchester Fire Department activities for several years.
Janet was a strong supporter of her husband and an active and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Ernest, Dorchester; two sons, Andrew (Mary), Dorchester and Greg (Louise), Dorchester; four daughters, Joanne (David) Sumner, Lakefield, ON, Bonnie (Lloyd) Bachinsky, Edmonton, AB, Cheryl (Stephen) Estabrooks, Middle Sackville, and Donna (Justin Fournier) Cormier, Dorchester; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by an infant son, Jeffrey and a son, Robert; sisters Bertha and Myra; brothers Laurimer and Meredith; a daughter-in-law, Lorna, and a son-in-law, Raymond Cormier.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where family and friends are invited for visitation 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. A funeral service will take place at the Middle Sackville Baptist Church on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2 pm, with a burial to follow in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Janet may be made to Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department, Middle Sackville Baptist Church or a charity of the Donor's Choice.
