DUMONT - Roland Joseph Theadore of Ponteix, Saskatchewan passed away on Monday, April 11th, 2011 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, Saskatchewan at the age of 90 years. Roland was born in Ponteix on November 9, 1920 and attended school at Glenvern Hall. He married Lucille Ferland on February 18, 1958 in Ponteix. Roland farmed near Ponteix and enjoyed reading, gardening, music, dancing and singing. He was a very quiet and gentle man. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed being around family and friends. He was easy going and a hard worker, always willing to help his neighbour. He was loved by his family and friends and he will be missed. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lucille; children Jeanne (Ken), Lucien (Ali), Rolande (Steven), Marianne, Noëlla and Janine; grandchildren Les, Ron, Tonya, Shawn, Jennifer, Steven and Renée; brothers Fernand (Elsie) and George as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alcide and Marie-Paule, brothers Renald, Camille, Theophile (Fee) and Maurice and sisters Madeleine and Annette. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:30 pm from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church in Ponteix, Saskatchewan with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. The organist was Claudette Begin who accompanied the Sisters of Notre Dame d'Auvergne Parish. The eulogy was presented by Shawn Hyer and Renée Chelle. Pallbearers were Ken Bernard, Les Hyer, Ron Hyer, Shawn Hyer, Lucien Dumont and Tyler Perrault. Interment took place at the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery.
