Tooker: Edna May, 91, of Allison Avenue, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Born in London, England she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Daisy (Hollier) Frazee. Edna graduated from the Normal College in Truro and taught school in Outram, Annapolis Valley. She enjoyed working on her flower and vegetable gardens and was instrumental in helping many friends and neighbors getting their own gardens underway, running a small greenhouse business every spring. She also enjoyed a good game of cards with her friends at Allison Avenue in her later years. She is survived by her children, Donald (Eileen), Harmony; Gordon (Sonja), Comox, BC; David (Heather), Camden; Wendy Brown, Truro; Debbie (Serge) Crepeault, Auburn; Kate (Greg) Reid, Greenfield; Steven (Sherry), Brookside; sisters, Eileen (Wyman) Yuill, Old Barns; Carol Carlyle, North Bay, ON; brothers-in-law, Fred (Wilma) Tooker, Brookside; Clarence Tooker, Annapolis Valley; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger C. Tooker; sister, Dorothy Conrod; brother, John; grandson, David Brown. In keeping with Edna’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday, August 6, in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. Brian DeLong officiating with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Crossroads Cemetery Valley. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the VON.
