Age 78, of Nakile Home for Special Care and formerly of New Beginnings Seniors Residence passed away in Yarmouth Regional on August 4, 2017. Born in Montague P.E.I on July 15, 1939 she was a daughter to the late Robert Lee Crane Sr. and Bertha Maud (Llewellyn) Crane. Joyce retired as a Registered Nurse and had an arts degree in psychology and a passion for reading. She is survived by her brothers, Robert Jr. (Ruth) Crane, Fanning Brook P.E.I; Kenneth (Donna) Crane, Tusket, N.S.; sisters, Joan McCreight, Edmonton, Alberta; Dorothy (Clifford) Vail, Lower Eel Brook, N.S.; Shirley MacDonald, Montague P.E.I; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother-in-law Morris McCreight and Gordon MacDonald. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweenys Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 8 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Richard Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the New Beginnings Resident Enjoyment Fund.
