Passed peacefully away at Pleasantview Towers on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, Norman Morris, age 93 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Bessie Louise; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Georgina; son Duncan and son-in-law Patrick Costello; and 8 brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn his only surviving sister, Hilda Lewis; children: Lillian Cugnet (Merv), Norman (Ruth), Robert (Judy), Janet Ann, Cheryl Lynn (Rod); grandchildren: Rick, Keith, Johnny, Gina, Nicole, Chad, Mark, Shane, Meghan and Cheryl; great-grandchildren: Gailene, Tyler, Jude, Lily, Theo, Ryleigh, Dominick, Sadie and Bella; a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Norman's career spanned 35 plus years with Newfoundland Telephone/Bell Aliant. Special thank you to the wonderful staff of 3NW at Pleasantview Towers for the exemplary care afforded him. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27, from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place from Gower Street United Church on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00pm with cremation to follow. Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
