Passed away on August 26, 2017 after a lengthy battle with COPD in his 77th year. Predeceased by parents Jack and Elizabeth Cumby, brother Steve, sisters Patricia and Helen (McCarthy), and grandson John Christopher. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Jeanette; son John Boyd; brothers Michael, John (Paulette) and Kevin; sisters Betty White (Bert) and Kay Bara; sister-in-law Dorothy Spracklin (George); brother-in-law Ted McCarthy; three grandchildren Kyle, Sara and Madison; and many nieces and nephews. Pat returned to Newfoundland in 2004 after residing in Windsor, Ontario for 40 years. There he left behind many cherished friends, hockey associates and co-workers and was deeply involved in the Bendix, Civic and Mildewed Maple Leaf hockey leagues. Former employee of Bendix Automotive and Greater Essex County District School Board. Cremation has taken place. Born and raised in Hearts Content, NL. He will return to the place of his birth and rest with his parents and deceased siblings in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery. Funeral to take place on Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 at 1 p.m at Sacred Hearts Church, in Hearts Desire, NL. No flowers by request.
