Jordan MacInnis
We, the family regret to announce the sudden passing of Jordan Allen MacInnis in Halifax, NS on August 20th, 2017. Jordan was born in Pembroke, Ontario on March 18th, 1986 to a military family. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies from Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS. Jordan is survived by his father (Allen), sister (Miranda), brother (Bryce), niece (Eden), nephew (Gavin), paternal grandfather (Roddie), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved Jordan and who were impacted by his presence. Jordan is predeceased by his mother (Jane), paternal grandmother (Kay of Georges River, Cape Breton, NS), maternal grandparents (Jackie and Oswald of Chapeau, Quebec), and Uncles Gregory and George. Jordan was a self- taught guitarist and musician. He deeply loved guitars, video games, computers, and his niece and nephew. Anything Jordan became interested in during his life he became great at. Jordan lived his life on a quest for knowledge. His in-depth understanding of Philosophy and Religious Studies combined with his intelligent and curious mind enabled him to seek knowledge of all that he could throughout his 31 years with us on Earth. We are comforted knowing that Jordan is able to continue his quest with his mother and family members by his side. Cremation has taken place through Atlantic Funeral Homes and a private service will take place at a later date in Chapeau, Quebec. In lieu of donations or flowers, please engage in any act of kindness and understanding to honour Jordan. Jordan’s family wishes to extend a thank you to all who have sent thoughts, prayers and messages of support during this difficult time. Jordan’s memory will live on through all we do and through the connections he has made with those who cared for him. “Carry on my wayward son. For there’ll be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest. Don’t you cry no more.” We will always remember.
