Passed away suddenly yet peacefully at the Health Science Centre on Friday, August 25, 2017, Les Strickland age 70 years. Predeceased by his parents: Chesley and Myra; brother: Kevin; son-in-law: Reg Hillier brothers-in-laws: Ern, John and Arthur Lucas; and sister-in-law: Joan Bustin. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife of 50 years Lil; his children: Linda Hillier, David (Cindy) and Tommy (girlfriend Tammy); grandchildren: Kyndell, Hailey, Justin, Kristan, Shanna, Randy, Keely, Joshua and Tyler; great-grandchildren: Parkar, Meadow, Jacob and Daxon; brothers: Chesley (Mary Lou), Edgar, David, Harv (Daphne) and Charlie; sister: Emmie (Levi) Fizzard; members of the Lucas family; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. The Strickland family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the ICU, HSC for their compassion and care. At Les' request cremation has taken place. A private family visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Ave., on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Barrett's Funeral Chapel, 328 Hamilton Ave. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
